GET TO KNOW ME

I joined my first track team in 2012 as a high school sophomore with the intent to gain fitness during the soccer off season. Little did I know that this offhand decision would change my life forever. After becoming a member I participated in the team's tradition of reading John L. Parker Jr.'s "Once a Runner." Reading this book inspired me to become the best runner I can be.

After finishing my high school athletic career, I walked onto the University of Iowa's Track and Field team in the fall of 2015. Inspired by a new coach, Layne Anderson, I improved all of my personal bests from 800m to 10 miles by the spring 2016 season. Unfortunately, Coach Anderson left the UIowa team after that season and I suffered through a year of injuries and was eventually cut from the team. The following summer in 2017 I took destiny into my own hands.

I've been self-coaching for about four years now and have learned a lot along the way. I began researching the training styles, habits, and techniques of the best runners and coaches in the world. By learning their methods, I was able to develop a plan that worked for me. My training strategy has taken me to places I never dreamed I would be. As a coach, I feel it is my duty to share these insights with my athletes to help them reach new heights.
